Cardno ATC is seeking a Business Development Manager for our Northern United States region.
This position will focus on new business development in the commercial, industrial and local government markets in this region. Key Cardno service areas being marketed include environmental compliance, environmental remediation, groundwater remediation, natural resource and restoration services, industrial hygiene, mine remediation and water/wastewater.
Essential job functions include, but are not limited to:
> Oversee the creation and implementation of business development plans for the region and assist the area, business unit and branch managers in the region with sales and marketing activities such that individual and operations sales goals are achieved
> Develop and implement a personal business development plan for specific local and regional key clients that details sales and marketing capabilities, strategies, targets and goals for the fiscal year
> Plan, organize, train, motivate and lead the sales representatives in the area
> Oversee GO/NO GO decisions and proposal team assignments for large national or regional opportunities
> Provide sales goal tracking and reporting; and, offer training/support to local business developers in the region on reporting and other Cardno EES Business Development Guidelines issues
> Travel throughout assigned region to develop and/or maintain long-term, on-going business relationships with clients
> Secure signed contracts from new and existing clients consistent with Cardno policy
> Stay knowledgeable on relevant legislation, practices and procedures pertinent to the sales area(s)
> Represent company at trade association meetings to promote services
> Deliver sales presentations to key clients or prospects in coordination with sales representatives, project managers and branch managers
> Monitor and evaluate the activities and services of the competition
Basic qualifications:
> Bachelor's degree or ten years related experience and/or training in lieu of a degree
> Minimum of five years of consulting experience
> Degrees and/or experience in environmental engineering, building sciences or waste water engineering are preferred
> Proven track record of sales success and client relationship development
> Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents
> Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community
> Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format
> Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry
> Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
> Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
> Proficient in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint
> Authorized to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
