team as a Product Quality Specialist! Position
Summary:
This position plays an essential role in validating the quality of products supplied to the Company.
Products include bedding, towels, candles, cookware, d cor, furniture, and much more! Associate will 1) track product testing and review test and inspection reports to ensure products comply with Company quality and performance requirements, 2) interact with various internal stakeholders, vendors, and third-party laboratory, and 3) maintain testing records.
Duties and
Responsibilities:
Participate in discussions with designated Buyers to understand their product lines, priorities, and vendors.
Review third-party laboratory test and inspection reports for specific departments and/or product categories as assigned.
Interact with third-party laboratory, Import Compliance, Vendors, and Buying/Sourcing teams regarding report results, product test standards, and inspections.
Consult with Director as needed.
Track status of testing at laboratory Update PLM system as needed regarding testing and inspection compliance.
Perform quality review and approval of select product samples as needed.
Other special projects as assigned Lab/Vendor/Internal Partners:
Interaction and Report Review Analyze all testing and inspection activity to evaluate and determine action, escalating internally and externally as applicable.
Communicate with vendors and lab on failed report dispositions, requirements, and other report issues.
Involve internal partners as needed.
Review and analyze corrective action for Fail testing and inspection results, providing technical expertise to drive effective corrective action.
Coordinate special test requests from internal partners, such as Buying/Sourcing and Product Development teams Participate in discussions with designated Buyers to understand their product lines, priorities, and vendors.
Data Entry and Documentation Update PLM system and/or other documentation filing tool with testing/inspection details, including test status, results, and disposition Maintain database log of quality issues escalated from Buyer store visits, field call outs, or customer complaints.
Maintain vendor files to keep critical documentation as needed Tracking Status Utilize PLM and/or other company or lab reporting tools to track status of testing/inspections to minimize delays that might be a result of product validation program.
Collaborate with PO Tracking and the Buying/Sourcing teams
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of Quality experience for a major retailer Working knowledge of overseas sourcing processes and systems (PLM) preferred Experience in retail merchandise operations or support (Buying, Sourcing, Compliance, Design, etc.
) Skills and Abilities:
Detail-oriented Strong reasoning and analytical skills, as well as written and verbal communication Ability to understand and implement appropriate industry standards such as:
ASTM, BIFMA, BSI, AATCC, etc.
